A Bail Bond is a signed, written promise, used to obtain the release of a defendant from jail. The defendant, after being released on bail, will appear to all subsequent court proceedings as required and comply with all of the conditions of the Bail Bond.
If the released defendant fails to appear for their hearing on the date specified in the Bail Bond, the court will then issue a warrant for the defendant's arrest for not appearing.
